About Me

Ever since I was a kid, I had an eye for Design. I am the type of girl who steps into a room, no matter where it is and can find areas that need improvement. Every season is a good reason to reorganize, decorate or completely re-design a room or closet. Living in Manhattan can be very expensive so I make sure every sqauare foot is utilized to its capacity. This isnt just a hobby of mine, I have worked in the Home Remodeling business for many years as a Designer, Project Planner and Buildings department expeditor. I went from hiring the contractor to being the contractor. I have taken courses in Interior Design at FIT in NYC and I have been chosen to design homes for high end media staff of (HBO and ABC) just to name a few, even down to even the average school teacher. I have a philopshy that your space should reflect your personality and lifestyle. I like to get to know my clients personally, things like; what their favorite color is, type of music they listen to, what their area of work is and this is the method I use in order to deliver results that exceed their expectations.

CounterTops

Clients are challenged with the idea of what counter top type would be best. There aren't too many options as far as the  type of material or type of edge to cut out but there are almost limitless options for color.  One of my favorites is Marble Carrera. However; some consider Marble to be porous to wines and burning, I'm not a wine drinker so this wouldn't be a problem for me. If you plan to actually use the kitchen you are planning to renovate its best that you go with a very durable type stone such as a Ceasarstone or Silestone. These two types of stones are non-porous and are heat resistant. They come in a variety of colors and some even imitate marble or granite. Ceasar and Sile are 70%Quartz and 30% man-made material and are usually accompanied with a very impressive warranty. Take a look at some of the kitchen models that have included various stone installations.

Motivo Bossed collection by Ceasarstone

Excellent for simple rooms and can be added to provide accents

Chocolate truffle, This is a recycled product also produced by ceasarstone

If you add this to any kitchen or bathroom it is sure to give it a boost in appearance

Ceasarstone, comes in a variety of colors and can be cut using any available edge option

If I'm not mistaken, I believe you can have your stone cut as low as .25 in  - 2" thick and from 23" - 180" in width.

Its all about being creative with design and the space you are currently in.  I always tell my clients. If you plan to use a busy countertop to be easy with the cabinetry or else the kitchen would just be too busy. This theory is vice verse, if you have selected a very buy line of cabinetry, you can go with a solid color counter top and play a little with your back splash or your floors. Its not our goal to make the room look as though there are so many things going on, instead we prefer a classy look that may be welcoming to any eye.

The texture of this counter Top is that of a crocodile. It is very impressive and also come a few selected colors.

This is an idea for someone who isn't afraid to add a little color.

Blizzard is probably the highest requested color because it is off white and has little sparkles that give an illusion of diamonds scattered all over it. The other color high in demand would be the pure white. It is very uncommon to find a stone that is of one solid color, but ceasarstone is doing a great job at fabricating stone to meet the consistency that buyers are seeking. (Eco-Friendly line options are also available)

If you are adding stone to a vanity or kitchen counter, you must choose a cut type for the edge. Above you have a detailed list of all available edge types to choose from.
